Visitors are welcome to come and ‘dip a toe in the water’ and there is no charge. The Society meets at 7.30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The normal venue is Westgate Church Hall (opposite the Queensgate Bus Station). Doors open at 7.OOpm. Some meetings involve practical project sessions and others will be a talk which starts at 7.30 for about an hour. Once any talk has finished our resident ‘Expert’ is available if people need help.We have our Library open and there is the Notice Board and Family History literature to browse. The Society receives Journals from other Societies which are available to borrow at meetings. In the summer we usually have two outings instead of meeting at Westgate – sometimes there is a charge to both members and visitors for them. The AGM is held in May each year. The future programme is printed in the Journal in addition to the web site. For further information about meetings please contact the Secretary. |
